Tara Ruijl is an artist whose imagination knows no bounds. In her painting Luchtstad (Sky City), for example, you can live in a cloud and eat an ice cream. In 2022, Tara organised her first solo exhibition at her former internship location, De Pitskeuken in Amsterdam Zuid. The use of colour in her work is bold and powerful. She is daring, and her paintings really jump out at you and make you happy. Tara uses various techniques, and her subjects vary as well. She uses examples from newspapers or art books for her work, but also draws from her imagination. In addition, she enjoys communicating about her work process and sources of inspiration, connecting with others and seeking exchange with fellow artists. Her work is characterised by an open mind, imagination and a strong curiosity. In 2025, Tara was invited to participate in a group exhibition in Seoul as part of the Skywalk art project, together with a number of Korean artists, and gave a guided tour at the opening.
