Hans Schimmelpennink taught himself to paint. He paints directly with acrylic paint on paper or canvas. He always consistently reproduces images he finds in art encyclopaedias. He is particularly interested in old masters and representations on which there is a lot to see. Hans usually starts in one corner of the paper or canvas and thus quietly and gradually works his painting further.
