Harmen Warries has been drawing and painting since 2010 and has been working at the Outsider Art Atelier since 2016. In 2012, he took part in an international exchange project in Brighton together with artists from Ireland, the Netherlands, and England.
Nature is his favorite subject: he loves to draw and paint beavers, bears, and all kinds of birds. For these works, he selects an image himself and then recreates it with great precision and attention to detail. Over the past few years, his repertoire has expanded to include comic characters, The Rolling Stones, Max Verstappen, and Harry Potter.
A selection of his work was shown at the Cobra Museum in 2024. Take your time to really look closely at what is happening in his paintings, there is so much to see. Harmen gladly invites you into his world of imagination, where there is plenty to explore and discover.
