‘I am deeply in love with art. For myself and for my work. This is my dream job’. Tirza lives and works in Amsterdam and has been affiliated with Outsider Art Ateliers since 2019. She has her own style with dark contours, bright colours and an eye for detail. She is often inspired by famous Dutch people, television programmes and politicians. These figures populate her paintings and drawings, and she often plays a role in them herself. During Amsterdam’s 750th anniversary, her work reflects much of the festivities surrounding this celebratory year. From drinks parties with bitterballen to a masked ball with the mayor, with all the city’s major theatres and even the cast of the television programme ‘Even tot Hier’ in the background. In addition to her work as an independent artist, she is also involved in education, gives workshops and enjoys explaining what working in a studio means to her. In her spare time, she enjoys attending openings, performances and cultural events, drawing inspiration from these experiences. In the future, she would also like to focus on performance art, theatre and dance.
