Cor Pieters studied at the Graphic School and Gerrit Rietveld Academy in his younger years and has been active as a multidisciplinary artist throughout his working life. For him, art is a means of exploring reality, including the reality of the medium itself. He wants to return to being the nine-year-old boy, painting watercolours, drawing expressively and making scale models. In 2024, several of Cor’s works were purchased by the Dutch National Art Collection. Important sources of inspiration for Cor are Zen Buddhism and surrealism. Nowadays, Cor creates abstract work and uses this as a source for further graphic work (such as linocuts and woodcuts).
